Early Life and Education

As a Croatian violinist, he embarked on his musical journey in 1945, joining the opera orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek. Aspiring to refine his craft, he pursued his education in Osijek, followed by tutelage under Franz Bruckbauer in Vienna and ultimately at the Zagreb Music Academy with Ivan Pinkava.

Orchestral Career

From 1947 to 1964, he graced the podiums of two esteemed orchestras: the Zagreb Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1964, he reached a pinnacle in his career by becoming the concertmaster of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.

Chamber Music

Concurrent to his orchestral pursuits, he also played an integral role in the Zagreb Quartet from 1957 onwards. Throughout his time with the ensemble, he seamlessly alternated between first and second violin, demonstrating his versatility and virtuosity.

Honors and Legacy

Throughout his life, he received numerous national music awards, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the Croatian musical landscape. His legacy lives on not only through his performances but also through the inspiration he provided to countless aspiring violinists.

Untimely Demise

Sadly, his life was cut short by hepatitis C, leaving an irreplaceable void in the world of classical music.
