Zvjezdan Misimović: Bosnian Midfielder and National Icon
Early Life and FamilyZvjezdan Misimović was born and raised in Germany to Bosnian Serb parents. His wife, Stefanija, is Macedonian, and they have two sons, Luka (born 2004) and Niko (born 2009).
Football Career
Club LevelMisimović made a name for himself in the German Bundesliga, playing for clubs such as VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund. He was part of Wolfsburg's Bundesliga-winning squad in 2008/09 and also helped the team win the DFB-Pokal in 2003.
In 2010, Misimović moved to Turkish club Galatasaray, where he played for less than a year before joining FC Dynamo Moscow in 2011. He spent several years with Dynamo, making a significant contribution to the team.
International Level
Misimović holds the record for the most appearances for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. He has played in major tournaments such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 UEFA European Championship.
