Biography of Abbas Aydin oglu Abbasov
Abbas Aydin oglu Abbasov is an Azerbaijani statesman and politician. He was born on August 4, 1949, in Gyanja, Azerbaijan.
Early Life and Education
Abbasov completed his education at the Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute in 1971, where he earned a degree. Shortly after graduating, he started working as a veterinary doctor at the Republican Veterinary Laboratory.
Career
In 1979, Abbasov became the director of the Baku Poultry Factory, a position he held until 1983. During this time, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the State Poultry Industry of the Uzbek SSR. In 1990, he served as the First Secretary of the Apsheron Regional Committee of the Azerbaijan SSR.
From 1992 onwards, Abbasov held the position of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also served as a deputy in the National Assembly of Azerbaijan from 1990 to 1995. Additionally, he was the Co-Chairman of the intergovernmental commissions on economic cooperation with Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Georgia.
Abbasov's dedication and active work in strengthening and developing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were recognized when he received the Diploma of the Commonwealth of Independent States on June 21, 2000.
In 2006, Abbasov resigned from his position as the First Vice-Prime Minister of the government. Later that year, he was honored with the Yusif Mamedaliyev Medal for his contributions to the development of education and culture.
