Early Career
Abderrahim Ouakili, a Moroccan footballer, began his professional career at the German amateur club Jügesheim. In 1994, he joined Mainz 05, a German club in the Second Bundesliga. On September 18th of that year, he made his debut for Mainz 05 in a home match against Meppen.
Breakthrough at Mainz 05
Ouakili scored his first goal for Mainz 05 on April 23rd, 1995, against Wattenscheid 09. In the 1996/97 season, he finished as the sixth-highest goalscorer in the Second Bundesliga with 12 goals and scored 10 goals in 14 appearances in the first half of the following season.
Bundesliga Debut with München 1860
In December 1997, Ouakili moved to München 1860. He made his Bundesliga debut on December 13th in an away match against Karlsruhe. On March 21st, 1998, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Return to Mainz 05 and Success in Greece
After a season with Tennis Borussia Berlin in the Second Bundesliga, Ouakili returned to Mainz 05 in 1999/00. In 2001, he joined the Greek club Xanthi. In a home match against Egaleo, he scored a poker by the 49th minute and finished the season as the fifth-highest goalscorer in the Alpha Ethniki with 14 goals.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2002, Ouakili moved to Karlsruher SC in the German Second Bundesliga, where he concluded his playing career.
International Career
Ouakili was a member of Morocco's squad for the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations in Burkina Faso, appearing in all four games. He was also included in Morocco's squad for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France but did not play any matches.
