Marco Fabián: Mexican Midfielder

Early Life and Career

Born in Jalisco, Mexico, Marco Fabián began his football journey with Deportivo Tapatío, a feeder team for Club Deportivo Guadalajara. In 2007, he was promoted to the first team, making his league debut that year in the Apertura tournament.

Success with Guadalajara

Fabián's breakthrough came in the Clausura 2008, where he played regularly and scored his first professional goal against Monarcas Morelia. He played a key role in Guadalajara's historic run to the Copa Libertadores final in 2010, scoring a crucial goal in the second leg despite the eventual loss to Internacional. In 2010 and 2011, Fabián emerged as a prolific goalscorer, netting 21 goals in 46 league appearances.

International Debut and Controversies

Fabián made his international debut for Mexico in 2011. However, his involvement with the national team was marked by controversies. In 2011, he was ruled out of the Copa América due to "improper conduct." Despite returning to the team in 2012, his Olympic gold medal in 2012 was overshadowed by a doping scandal involving other players.

Career in Europe

In 2014, Fabián joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga. He quickly became a fan favorite, contributing to the club's 2016/17 DFB-Pokal final appearance. In 2017, his stunning goal against Germany in the Confederations Cup semi-final was voted as the tournament's best goal.
