Abigail and Brittany Hensel: The Conjoined Twins from Minnesota

Abigail Loraine Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel, also known as conjoined twins or Siamese twins, were born in Minnesota. Despite sharing one body, they live a fully functional life, with a loving family and many friends. Recently, Abigail and Brittany have started appearing on TV, and in 2012, a series about their lives was launched.

Early Life

Abigail Loraine Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel were born in March 1990 to Patty and Mike Hensel. The birth of conjoined twins is extremely rare, and there have only been four known cases similar to the Hensel sisters. When the decision of separating the girls arose during their early childhood, it became clear that only one of them could survive. However, their parents chose to leave everything as it was.

They even have different preferences when it comes to food, although they sometimes share a hamburger for convenience.

Education

The Hensel sisters attended a regular school and graduated in 2008. They then went on to Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2012, both sisters earned bachelor's degrees. Interestingly, Abigail and Brittany did not gain much media attention until they reached adulthood. However, they became popular in the media and on television later on.

Television Appearances

Abigail and Brittany made their first television appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 1996. They had a few more appearances from 2001 to 2007 before their own series, "Abby & Brittany," premiered in August 2012. The series focused on their lives and experiences as conjoined twins. Despite their unique circumstances, the sisters are open about their lives and enjoy their popularity. However, they do not appreciate being photographed without permission, a common occurrence in unfamiliar places.

Normal Lives

Abigail and Brittany Hensel are just like any other young Americans. They love sports such as baseball and football, enjoy watching shows and movies, wear baseball caps, spend time with friends, and dream of having a loving family in the future. When asked about the advantages of their condition, they respond with a unified voice: they are never bored and always have someone to talk to.
