Biography of Ada de la Cruz
Early LifeAda de la Cruz is a Dominican model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was born in Villa Mella and grew up in Villa Altagracia. At the age of 14, she returned to Santo Domingo and lived with her mother, Ana Martínez Ramírez, her grandmother Celeste Ramírez, her grandfather Ventura Garabito, and her younger brother Adrián.

Modelling Career
Ada de la Cruz gained fame after winning the Miss Dominican Republic World 2007 pageant. This victory led her to participate in the Miss World 2007 competition, where she was among the top 16 contestants and won the title of Miss World Beach Beauty 2007. In the same year, she also competed in Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2007 and made it to the top 10 semifinalists.
Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2009
Ada's breakthrough moment came in 2009 when she won the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2009 pageant. Representing her parents' hometown of San José de Ocoa, she was selected to represent the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe 2009 competition. Ada showcased her talents and beauty in the pageant, ultimately finishing as the first runner-up to Stefania Fernandez from Venezuela. In the overall standings, Ada actually scored the highest, but due to the pageant rules, she was awarded the second place.
Recognition and Legacy
Despite not winning the Miss Universe title, Ada de la Cruz was celebrated as a champion in her home country of the Dominican Republic. As the second Afro-Spanish woman to win the Miss Dominican Republic pageant, her achievement was highly significant. She followed in the footsteps of Ruth Ocumárez, who won the national pageant in 2001.
