Early Career at Ferro Carril Oeste

Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Hermann Burgos began his illustrious football career with Ferro Carril Oeste in 1989. For five seasons, he played for the club, establishing himself as the starting goalkeeper in his final two campaigns. He made a total of 104 appearances for Ferro Carril Oeste.

Success and Transition at River Plate

In 1994, Burgos joined the legendary River Plate. In his first season with the "Millonarios," he played in 33 matches. However, over time, his playing opportunities gradually diminished.

Spanish Adventure: Mallorca and Atlético Madrid

In the summer of 1999, Burgos moved to Spain to join RCD Mallorca. He spent two seasons with the team but only featured in 12 games. In 2001, he transferred to Atlético Madrid, where he became the first-choice goalkeeper for the 2001/02 season. In the subsequent two seasons, he made only 14 appearances each.

Retirement and International Career

In 2004, Burgos decided to hang up his goalkeeper gloves. From 1995 to 2002, he represented the Argentine national team in 35 matches. Despite being the backup goalkeeper for Argentina at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, he did not see action in any of the tournament matches.
