After playing 50 matches for the Dynamo Kyiv second team without scoring a goal, Golokolosov was unable to secure a permanent spot in the Dynamo system. He then played for various clubs, including Vinnytsia's "Niva" and Uzhhorod's "Verkhovyna." Golokolosov's first foray into international football came when he accepted an offer from Slovakia's "Kerametal," where he regained his form before returning to his hometown Odessa.

During his time at Odessa's "Chernomorets," Golokolosov scored 15 goals in 16 matches, helping the team rise in rank. However, his performance in the top league did not match his previous success, and he soon found himself playing for Lutsk's "Volyn." In addition to his struggles on the pitch, Golokolosov was plagued by a knee injury he sustained in Vinnytsia.

In the same year, Golokolosov signed a contract with the Spanish club "Albacete." Initially, it was a six-month loan, but due to his impressive performances in preseason matches, the club insisted on a permanent deal. However, Golokolosov failed to score any goals for the club in official matches. After suffering a severe injury (ruptured cruciate ligaments), it became evident that he would not be able to play in Spain.

In 2002, Golokolosov returned to Ukraine and attempted to join Kiev's "Obolon," but eventually ended up at the familiar "ZTS Dubnica" (formerly known as "Kerametal") where he had previously played. He played seven matches in Slovakia and scored one goal before deciding to retire. After hanging up his boots, Golokolosov worked as a football agent for the company "Interfutbol" and later became a selector for Mariupol's "Illichivets" in the 2006/07 season. Since October 2007, he has held a similar position at Dynamo Kyiv.
