Biography of Adrien Broner

Adrien Jerome Broner, also known as "The Problem," was born on July 28, 1989, in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He is an American professional boxer who competes in the lightweight division.

Amateur Career

Broner had an extensive amateur career, participating in over 300 fights. He became the National Silver Gloves Champion in 2002 and 2003. In 2005, he reached the semi-finals in the Youth Olympics.

Professional Career

Broner made his professional debut in May 2008 in the super featherweight division. After winning his first seven fights, he faced Fernando Quintero and won by decision after eight tough rounds. In June 2009, Broner knocked out William Kickett in the sixth round in a fight held at the Staples Center.

In 2010, he won four consecutive fights and earned the Intercontinental Youth title of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) in May. In January 2011, he knocked out John Revish in the first round, becoming the US Champion according to the WBO. In March 2011, he defeated former champion Daniel Ponce de Leon by decision, winning the WBO Intercontinental title in the lightweight division.

Later in 2011, Broner became the WBO World Champion after knocking out Vicente Martin Rodriguez in the fall. He successfully defended his title in 2012, but it was later discovered that he had exceeded the weight limit in his victory against Eloy Perez. As a result, he lost the title and had to pay a $60,000 fine.

On July 21, 2012, Broner won the championship in the super featherweight division by knocking out Vicente Escobedo in his hometown of Cincinnati. However, on March 18, 2013, Broner was arrested for allegedly assaulting a security guard outside a nightclub in Miami Beach, Florida. He was released on bail and later apologized for his behavior.

As of March 2013, Broner had an undefeated professional record of 26 fights. He had gained popularity through his fights, and despite the controversies surrounding him, he still considered himself "Mr. HBO."
