Aghlya Yamgutdinovich Kuchumov, a master of sports in veteran athletics, has earned countless medals and accolades. At 65, he remains an esteemed race walker in Russia, Europe, and worldwide.

After recovering from jaundice, Kuchumov moved to Dushanbe. One day, he witnessed Grigory Panichkin, an international master of sports and five-time world champion in race walking, practicing at the stadium. Inspired, Kuchumov approached Panichkin and asked for guidance. Within a year, Kuchumov became a silver medalist at republican competitions.
International Success
In 1993, Kuchumov ranked second at the Russian Veteran Athletics Championships. This achievement paved the way for a string of international successes in Minsk, Australia, Athens, Italy, the United States, Japan, and Belgium. Over his extensive career, Kuchumov has walked over three thousand kilometers in various competitions.
Training and Lifestyle
Despite his age, Kuchumov continues his training regime, running several kilometers every morning. He emphasizes the importance of regular exercise, even if it's just once a week.
