Early Life and Career Beginnings

Agyness Deyn grew up in a family with a nurse mother and was the second of three children. From an early age, Laura had dreams of becoming a model, and her mother supported her aspirations. One day, her mother visited a numerologist who advised Laura to change her name to Agyness and her surname to "Deyn".

At the age of thirteen, Agyness started working at a fish shop, which did not discourage her from pursuing her true passion. She always had a unique sense of style, sporting a short haircut at thirteen and eventually shaving her head completely at seventeen. Her distinctive appearance caught the attention of those around her.

In 1999, Agyness won the "Face of '99" competition held by the Rossendale Free Press. Afterward, she moved to London and worked at a fast-food restaurant while also honing her creative skills by studying drama and music at college.

Rise to Fame

In May 2007, Agyness Deyn reached a new milestone in her career when she graced the cover of Vogue magazine. Soon after, she became one of the most popular young models in the industry.
