Early Life and Education
Aida Otorbaeva, born on July 31, 1995, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, hails from a large family. She completed her education at School No. 14 in Bishkek and later pursued philology at the Kyrgyz National University named after Z.Balasagyn. However, she chose to prioritize her passion for football over further studies.
Career in Football
Love for the Game:Aida's love for football emerged at the tender age of 8 when she played with friends in her courtyard. Her potential was recognized by her physical education teacher, who encouraged her to pursue it professionally.
Professional Contracts:In 2018, Madrid CFF (Madrid Club de Futbol Femenino) offered Aida a professional contract. She spent a period in Spain training and participating in tournaments.
Promoting Football in Kyrgyzstan:Aida is a dedicated advocate for football development in her home country. In 2018, she founded the "Maestro" football school. She was also appointed as Vice-President of the Kyrgyz Women's Football Association in March 2022.
Recognition and Awards
FIFPro Hero Award:Aida received the FIFPro Hero Award in 2021, a prestigious honor bestowed by the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro).
Entrepreneurship and Self-Reliance
Early Business Ventures:From a young age, Aida showed entrepreneurial spirit. At age 9, she assisted her mother with cleaning at the university. At 18, she launched her first start-up, selling milkshakes and cold drinks. Later, she prepared sandwiches and delivered them to university cafeterias.
Breaking Barriers:Despite facing a mysterious illness in 2015, Aida remained determined. Through targeted exercises, she regained her health and returned to sports. She also overcame the loss of her mother in the same year.
Philanthropy and Community Involvement
Social Responsibility:Aida активно engages in philanthropy. During the pandemic, she founded the volunteer movement "Sobshcha" to support healthcare workers in hospitals and "red zones." Recently, she provided assistance to Kyrgyz Paralympic athlete Arslanbek Bazarkulov for the construction of his home.
Interesting Note
Aida Otorbaeva is left-handed but plays football with her left foot despite being retrained to use her right hand.
