A Congolese Mother's Dream
In the bustling city of Mutshatsha, tucked away in the southern region of Congo, lives 42-year-old Aimée, a widowed mother of seven. Driven by a passion for baking, Aimée's life took an extraordinary turn when she became a beneficiary of a World Vision project.
Assistance from World Vision
Through a partnership with the Bakers' Association (BMA), World Vision provided business grants to aspiring entrepreneurs in Congo. Aimée's dedication to baking and her desire to lift her family out of poverty made her an ideal candidate for the program. With the grant, she established her own bakery, fulfilling a childhood dream.
Flourishing Bakery in Congo
The opening of Aimée's bakery not only transformed her life but also resonates with the growing demand for quality bread and pastries in Congo. As a testament to the industry's potential, new bakeries are sprouting up not only in Congo but worldwide.
A Successful Venture
With her hard work and determination, Aimée has tripled her production and increased her flour stock to 30 bags. By baking 10 trays of bread daily, she generates up to 1,000 Russian rubles per day, providing a stable income and financial security for her family.
Education and Empowerment
Aimée's bakery not only provides for her children's needs but also fuels her aspirations for their education. Determined to break the cycle of poverty and discrimination faced by many Congolese women, she is particularly focused on ensuring her three daughters receive quality education.
Inspiring Others
As a testament to her generosity and desire to empower her community, Aimée now conducts baking classes for her neighbors, sharing her love for the craft and helping them embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys.
A Beacon of Hope
Aimée's bakery has become a hub of activity in Mutshatshe, symbolizing the transformative power of a dream and the importance of perseverance. Her story is an inspiration, reminding us of the resilience and determination of those facing adversity.
