Biography of Alan Gregg
Alan Gregg is a New Zealand bass guitarist and musician from Palmerston North. Although he started his professional career as a keyboardist, Alan primarily plays bass guitar. In 1986, he formed the band "The Remarkables" with local musicians, which released one EP. In 1988, Alan recorded an album with the band "Fun in the Key of E" on Meltdown Records.
Moving to Auckland, New Zealand, Alan began working with "Dribbling Darts of Love." From 1992 to 1998, he was a member of the band "The Mutton Birds," where he played bass guitar, sang vocals, and also wrote many songs. After leaving the band, Alan joined "The Stereo Bus" and embarked on a tour with Bic Runga.
In 2002, Alan, as a member of the band "Marshmallow," released a new album. It featured collaborations with Bic Runga, Sexsmith, and Andrew Claridge. The current lineup of the band consists of four musicians: drummer Bert Thomas, guitarist and vocalist Richard Turner, Kevin Ellis on guitar and vocals, and Alan Gregg himself, who currently resides in London.
In 2007, Gregg joined the band "The Desert Downtown" with members Kai Winstenley, Ange Boxall, and Steve Brooks. Alan has also recorded with Dave Dobbyn and Bic Runga. He has continued his work with "The Stereo Bus," resulting in the release of their second album.
