Bosnian professional footballer Edin Džeko has made a significant mark on the football world as a skilled defender.

Early Career and First Professional Steps

Born into a sports-loving family, Džeko's journey began at the age of six, joining the youth academy of local club FK Čelik. At the tender age of 15, he made the momentous decision to pursue football professionally, signing with hometown club Čelik. In 2001, his exceptional talent shone when he stepped onto the field as a substitute in the national championship, scoring a remarkable goal within minutes. Džeko fondly recalls this moment as one of the highlights of his career.

European Adventures

In a series of moves, Džeko moved to FK Posušje in 2004, followed by FK Žepče the following year. A brief training stint with FC Tom Tomsk in Turkey in 2006 led him to Slovenia's NK Interblock in Ljubljana. 2007 marked Džeko's second attempt at settling in Russia, this time successfully joining KAMAZ. From 2008 to 2009, he played for FC Baltika before signing with FC Shakhter Karagandy in Kazakhstan at the start of 2010.

Scoring Prowess and Goal-Scoring Record

Džeko's first season with Shakhter was extraordinary, with him scoring an impressive eight goals and emerging as the club's top scorer for 2010.
