Early Career and Formula 3
Italian racing driver, a participant in the Formula One World Championship. In 1984-1986, he competed in the Italian Formula 3, becoming the Italian Formula 3 vice-champion twice and winning the European Formula 3 Cup.
Debut in Formula One and Struggles at Osella
In 1986, he made his Formula One debut at the Italian Grand Prix, finishing six laps behind the winner and not being classified. The following year, he raced a full season in Formula One with the Osella team, finishing 12th only once and failing to qualify twice.
Success at Dallara
From 1988-1989, he drove for the Dallara team, achieving his career-best result with a fourth-place finish at the 1989 Monaco Grand Prix.
Injury and Recovery
In 1990, he joined the Footwork team. Before the season began, however, he suffered a cycling accident and missed the first race.
Accident and Setback
During qualifying for the 1991 Monaco Grand Prix, he crashed, breaking his jaw and forcing him to miss four races that season.
Career Conclusion
After leaving Formula One, he competed in various touring car and sports car championships.
