Alex Teixeira, born Alex Teixeira Santos, was born on January 6, 1990, in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From a young age, Alex was passionate about football and stood out on the field among his peers. In 1999, scouts from popular club Vasco de Gama noticed him and signed him to a contract after a few joint training sessions.

Over the next nine years, Alex trained under the guidance of the club's coaches and played for the youth teams.
