Early Life and Education
Born on October 18, 1950, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, the Ukrainian artist earned the title of Honored Art Worker of Ukraine. He graduated from the Odessa State Art School named after M. B. Grekov in 1978, where he specialized in painting and pedagogy under the tutelage of V. Shum and S. I. Lukin. Pursuing his studies, he obtained a degree in graphics and design from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in 2007.
Artistic Career
The artist's creative endeavors began in 1971. He became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1986. During the 1980s, he assumed the role of chief artist at the Art and Production Combine of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From 1985 to 1987, he served as the chief artist of Mykolaiv.
Recognition and Honors
In recognition of his artistic contributions, the artist received the title of Honored Art Worker of Ukraine by the Decree of the President of Ukraine on August 24, 2013. Two years later, in 2015, he was bestowed the academic title of "Associate Professor of NUK."
Academic Appointments
Since 1999, the artist has been a faculty member at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding. In 2019, he took over as head of the Department of Design at NUK, where he teaches courses in painting, drawing, scale modeling, and decorative materials.
Research and Publications
His research interests lie in contemporary trends and directions in painting. He has authored over 20 academic and educational publications and contributes to professional art catalogs and journals of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Accolades and Awards
Throughout his career, the artist has received numerous accolades, including honorary diplomas from the Mykolaiv Regional Council and Oblast State Administration. In 2011, he was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. Notably, he is a laureate of the Mykolaiv Regional Prize named after N. Arkas (2010).
