Ales Susha: A Master of Landscape and Still Life

Ales Susha, a renowned Belarusian painter, was born in the quaint village of Domovitsk in the Cherven district. His artistic journey began at the Republican Boarding School of Music and Fine Arts named after Ivan Akhremtchik. He later pursued his studies at the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute, graduating in 1986 with a specialization in monumental painting.

Apprenticeship and International Acclaim

Susha's talent was honed during his apprenticeship with renowned artists Mikhail Savitsky and Georgy Vashchenko at the workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1988, he debuted his works at republican exhibitions and made his international debut at the Berlin exhibition of young artists in 1990.

Membership and Leadership

In 1991, Susha became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. His dedication to the arts led him to serve as the head of the easel painting section within the Belarusian Union of Artists for several years.

Nature's Enchantment and Feminine Grace

Susha's canvases are primarily adorned with landscapes and still lifes. He masterfully captures the ephemeral moods and charm of nature. His depictions of women are equally captivating, rendered with delicate brushstrokes and evocative techniques.

Exhibitions and Recognition

Susha's works have graced exhibitions in various Belarusian cities, including Minsk, Brest, and Logoisk, as well as international venues such as Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, and beyond. His paintings are treasured in the collections of the National Art Museum of Belarus and other museums throughout the country.

Spiritual Revival Award

In 2011, Susha was honored with the prestigious "For Spiritual Revival" award for his mosaic cycle in the chapel honoring the icon of the Mother of God "Znamenie" at the memorial complex commemorating the victims of World War I.

Artist's Credo

Susha's artistic philosophy resonates deeply: "When the soul trembles and awakens thoughts, the innermost secrets are revealed, and something arises that will resonate with other souls."
