Alexander Todchuk - Russian Hairstylist and Stylist
Alexander Todchuk is one of the most well-known Russian stylists and hairstylists. He entered the world of hairdressing about 20 years ago, starting as a master at the Moscow branch of the 'Jacques Dessange' network. In 1995, Alexander opened his first salon, and from there, he worked diligently and steadily towards success. He later established the 'Alexander Todchuk Studio,' a network of hair salons that is unique and extensive.

Alexander has hundreds of students and teaches at his own Hairdressing Art Training Center. He also conducts numerous masterclasses and shows. It is interesting to note that Alexander had childhood dreams of becoming a pilot, firefighter, or police officer, but he never considered a career as a hairdresser. He even studied at the Kharkov Aviation Institute. However, fate intervened, and Alexander's path led him to the world of hairstyling.

Alexander developed his style abroad, studying hairdressing and business in the United States and the United Kingdom. The main components of beauty according to Alexander Todchuk are simplicity, elegance, and respect for the classics. With a clientele that includes famous personalities such as Larisa Dolina, Alena Sviridova, Lika Star, Shura, Katya Lel, Vlad Stashevsky, and even Vanessa-Mae, it is evident that his work is highly regarded.
Alexander's approach to creating a hairstyle is unique. Before starting the transformation, he wants to learn as much as possible about the person in the chair. The future hairstyle is not only determined by the client's hair type but also by their personality, profession, lifestyle, and habits. Alexander says, "I am only interested in working when my opinion is valued; implementing someone else's ideas bores me."
Comparing the industry in Russia to the international scene, Alexander Todchuk acknowledges that Russia is significantly behind. While other countries have a developed industry, hairdressing success in Russia largely depends on the hairstylist's talent. For example, when Alexander wanted to adorn a celebrity's hairstyle with rhinestones, it was impossible to find them, and he had to order them from a jeweler.
Moreover, Alexander was the first to host a TV program on fashion and style. He was also a pioneer in exploring Russia as a platform for the hairdressing industry. Alexander Todchuk is considered a master of Russian hairdressing. He teaches extensively, conducts off-site masterclasses and courses, and publishes various educational materials. There is no shortage of clients in all of his salons. In fact, one must make an appointment and wait to get into one of his salons.
One of Alexander Todchuk's unique techniques is the 'Smart Haircut,' which takes into account the individual characteristics of the hair. This style does not require constant styling and maintains its shape for a long time.
