Early Life and Education

Born on March 29, 1954, in the city of Kuybyshev, Russia, the future politician began his journey. In 1977, he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned a Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Engineering Career

His professional career took off at the Moscow Machine-Building Plant named after Mikoyan, where he held various positions, including engineer, senior engineer, and leading designer from 1977 to 1985. Subsequently, from 1985 to 1993, he rose through the ranks at the Moscow Machine-Building Plant "Skorost" named after A.S. Yakovlev, serving as deputy chief designer, chief designer, head of the enterprise, and general designer.

Transition to Business and Politics

From 1993 to 2000, he chaired the Board of Directors and served as General Constructor of the Design and Construction Bureau named after A.S. Yakovlev. His involvement in politics commenced on May 18, 2000, when he was appointed Minister of Industry, Science, and Technology of the Russian Federation. This position lasted until October 2001.

Government and Senate Representation

On December 28, 2001, he was appointed as the representative of the Belgorod Region Administration to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. His term of office lasted until May 2003. During this time, he served on the Defense and Security Committee and the Commission on Natural Monopolies.
