Alexandra Yevgenievna Yakovleva was born on July 2, 1957, in Kaliningrad, Russia. She graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography in 1982.
Acting Career
Yakovleva made her film debut in the acclaimed 1981 film "The Crew," directed by Alexander Mitta. She rose to prominence in 1982 with her starring role as Taisia in the television adaptation of Yuri Herman's novel "Russia the Young."
In 1993, she directed her first film, "The Ferry 'Anna Karenina.'"
Political and Civic ServiceFrom 1993 to 1997, Yakovleva served as Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Tourism and Vice-Mayor of Kaliningrad, her hometown.
Personal Life
Yakovleva was married to journalist Alexander Nevzorov. She currently resides in St. Petersburg with her husband and is involved in various business ventures, including the management of Pulkovo Airport.
"Amber Panther" Film Festival
Yakovleva served as President of the "Amber Panther" Baltic Sea Region Film Festival. The festival has been inactive since Yakovleva left office as Vice-Mayor of Kaliningrad.
Current Activities
Yakovleva currently heads the Quality Management and Personnel Department at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg.
