Tragic Teenagers
17-year-old Alexandria Hollinghurst and her boyfriend, 18-year-old Brandon Goode, killed a police officer in the elite suburb of Orlando before taking their own lives. Authorities have stated that both teenagers left suicide notes. The tragedy occurred after Hollinghurst, originally from northern England, moved in with Goode, against the wishes of her parents Matthew and Debra, who did not approve of his "drug-addicted" lifestyle. Friends of the girl confirmed that Brandon had been involved with drugs and openly admitted to smoking marijuana. A month before their deaths, in February 2014, the teenage couple was arrested for possession of marijuana, but Hollinghurst's name was not mentioned in the case as she was still a minor. One of Alexandria's friends said, "Matthew and Debra tried to protect Alex from this guy, they just kept insisting. The arrest last month was the last straw for them, and after all the arguments, she left home. But she could have come back home at any time."

Troubled Past
Police records revealed that Brandon had threatened his mother, Connie, with an axe when he was 16 years old. In 2012, he did something rather strange: he smeared his face, covered all the windows in the house, and armed himself with an axe. When his mother returned home, he attacked her and threatened her, demanding that she agree to his father's divorce. Good's neighbors confirmed that they often saw Alexandria, a blonde, with him. One of them, George Koop, said, "She was a pleasant girl, she was here constantly. They would go out together and leave in his car, often returning home late at night."

A Warning Issued
Eventually, the Polk County Police issued a warning, stating that the missing Hollinghurst and Goode were considered "potential suicides" as their suicide notes had been found by their loved ones. Early in the morning on March 22, 2014, Alexandria and Brandon found themselves in the elite suburb of Orlando, a place rarely visited by ordinary citizens. 31-year-old police officer Robert German, who was patrolling the area, found the couple suspicious. He asked them to stop, but was shot multiple times in the head. Severely injured, German was able to call for backup, and the responding officers heard two gunshots. Hollinghurst and Goode's bodies were found 100 meters away from German. Police only discovered one revolver, leading them to believe that the teenagers took turns shooting themselves. In his suicide note, Goode repeatedly asked for forgiveness from his parents and wrote that he had planned to die with Alexandria, his beloved woman and fiancée. Excerpts from his letter read, "Don't be sad. This is what I want right now. I'm going to peacefully die with the woman of my dreams, my fiancée! I already miss you. I love you, Mom. I love you, Dad." On the other hand, Hollinghurst expresses her anger towards her mother in her final letter: "You are nothing. You are rude, disgusting... I wish I had never been born." Before showering her mother with horrible insults, Alexandria writes, "If I had stayed here for another minute, I would have smeared the walls and stained the carpets with my blood, so you would have to clean it all up." However, in both her letter and the ones addressed to her father, sister, and boyfriend, Alexandria does not mention any plans to end her own life. Rather, she was preparing to run away with Goode and soon marry him. Alexandria's family is convinced that Brandon killed her before taking his own life.
