Early Life and Career
Yuriy Vladimirovich Beloy was born on May 1, 1961, in Kamenka, Ukraine. He graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute in 1988. Beloy began his career in 1982 at the Kryvyi Rih Coke and Chemical Plant, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Head of Production.
Industry Leadership
In 1988, Beloy joined the Yenakiieve Coke and Chemical Plant, where he served as Head of the Coke Department and later as Director of the Enterprise. He then became Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Yenakiieve Metallurgical Plant from 1998 to 2000.
From 2000 to 2002, Beloy served as Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration. In 2002, he became General Director of the Azovstal Metallurgical Plant in Mariupol.
Political Career
Beloy entered politics in May 2006 as a member of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) for the Party of Regions. He served on the Industrial Policy Subcommittee within the Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Committee.
In November 2007, Beloy was re-elected to the Verkhovna Rada, again representing the Party of Regions. During this term, he chaired the Subcommittee on State Policy on Household Waste and Scrap Metal.
In the 2012 parliamentary elections, Beloy was elected from a single-member district in Mariupol. He ran on the Party of Regions ticket and received 50.41% of the vote.
Beloy remained in the Verkhovna Rada after the 2014 early parliamentary elections, this time with the Opposition Bloc. He chaired the Subcommittee on Automobile Transport within the Transport Committee.
Personal Life
Yuriy Beloy is married to Irina Pavlivna Belaya. They have three children: Alexander (1998), Arseniy (2003), and Amelia (2011).
