Early Life and Education
Alexis Pinturault was born in Moûtiers, Savoie, and grew up in Annecy, France. His mother, Hege Wiig Pinturault, was originally from Bergen, Norway. Pinturault started skiing at the age of two, thanks to his parents' influence. He also played football for a while but decided to fully concentrate on skiing at the age of 15.

Career
In 2009 and 2011, Pinturault became the Junior World Champion in slalom and giant slalom. He made his debut in the World Cup race on March 13, 2009, in Åre, Sweden. On March 5, 2011, Pinturault entered the top three for the first time in a World Cup race, winning the silver medal in the slalom giant in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. He achieved his first World Cup victory on February 21, 2012, in parallel slalom in Moscow.

In the following years, Pinturault faced some setbacks due to injuries. However, he made a comeback and won his second World Cup race on December 8, 2012, in Val d'Isere, France. He continued to achieve success, winning races in Wengen, Switzerland, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and other locations.

Achievements
In the 2013-2014 season, Pinturault won two more World Cup races, one in slalom in Wengen and another in super-combined in Kitzbühel. In 2013, he was honored with the title of '2013 Longines Rising Star' for being the best young skier (under 23 years old) of the season.
Pinturault participated in his first Olympic Games in 2014 and won a bronze medal in the slalom giant discipline.
