Alfre Woodard was born on November 8, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Constance, a homemaker, and Marion H. Woodard, an entrepreneur and interior designer. She attended Cascia Hall Preparatory School, a private Catholic school in Tulsa, and later studied dramatic arts at Boston University.

Acting Career

Woodard is renowned for her extensive work in television and cinema, often portraying supporting roles. Her impressive filmography includes a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Cross Creek" (1983). She also played the memorable role of Lily Sloan, Zefram Cochrane's assistant, in "Star Trek: First Contact" (1996).
