Early Life and Career in France
Vandoeuvre and NancyAlfred N'Diaye began his football journey at Vandoeuvre in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy. At the age of 14, he joined Nancy, the largest and most successful club in Lorraine. In 2006, he signed his first professional contract with Nancy.
Nantes Debut and Rise to Prominence
N'Diaye made his senior debut for Nancy at the age of 17 in a Coupe de la Ligue match against Lens, coming on as a substitute in a 0-3 defeat. He spent another year playing for Nancy's reserve team in the Amateur League.
However, in the 2008/09 season, N'Diaye broke into the first team under Pablo Correa, making his Ligue 1 debut as a substitute against Lille in a 0-0 draw. Two months later, he made his first start for Nancy in a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain. His performances impressed Correa, and he became a regular starter from that point forward.
Transfer to Turkey: Bursaspor
On July 1, 2011, Nancy announced that N'Diaye had joined Turkish club Bursaspor for a fee of €3 million.
Move to England: Sunderland
On January 9, 2013, N'Diaye moved to Premier League club Sunderland for a fee of €4.7 million. He wore the number 4 shirt for his new club.
