Early Life and Career in Croatia

Luka Modrić was born on September 9, 1985, in Modrić, Croatia. He began his football career at his hometown club NK Slaven Belupo in 1999.

Time with Hajduk Split

In 2002, Modrić was loaned to Hajduk Split, where he made 10 appearances. Despite a brief stint with the club, he helped Hajduk Split win the Croatian Cup and secure a silver medal in the Croatian Championship.

Transfer to Ukraine and Return to Croatia

In August 2005, Modrić joined FC Arsenal Kyiv in Ukraine on a free transfer. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League in September 2005. Two years later, he was available for transfer and returned to Croatia to play for HNK Šibenik.

Later Career in Croatia

After leaving Šibenik, Modrić played for NK Koprivnica, NK Vinogradar, and NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac. In 2009, he joined NK Križevci, a club competing in the Croatian Third Division.
