Biography of Alia Shawkat
Born on April 18, 1989, in Riverside, California, Alia Shawkat is an American actress of Iraqi, Kurdish, Irish, and Norwegian descent. Her maternal grandfather, Paul Burke, was an actor known for his role as Detective Adam Flint in the television series "Naked City" (1959-1963). Alia's parents are Dina and Tony Shawkat, and she has two younger brothers, aged 15 and 7.

Early Career
Alia made her film debut in 1999, starring alongside George Clooney in the movie "Three Kings." From 2001 to 2002, she appeared in the comedy series "State of Grace," which aired on Fox Family (later renamed ABC Family). In the series, Alia portrayed Hannah Rayburn. She also worked with her co-star from "State of Grace," Mae Whitman, in the television series "Arrested Development" (2003-2006), which aired on Fox Network. Alia's character in the series was Maeby Fünke.

Other Works
In addition to her television roles, Alia Shawkat has also appeared in films such as "Rebound" (2005) and "The Business of Fancydancing" (2002).
