Biography of Michael Phelps
The Amazing Swimming CareerMichael Phelps, the new sports star, is an 18-year-old American swimmer who continues to astonish the world by setting one record after another in swimming. He recently surpassed his own record time in the 200-meter individual medley at the US Championship, clocking in at 1 minute and 55.94 seconds. This beat his previous record set at the recent world championship in Barcelona. At the world championship, Phelps also set four more world records. Additionally, he achieved victory in all five final races at the national championship, a feat that no other athlete had accomplished.
Background and Personal Life
Michael was born and raised in Baltimore, where he currently resides. He owns his own house but admits to only spending time in his bedroom where he has a computer, stereo system, gaming console, VCR, and DVD player. From this collection, it is easy to guess that Michael's main interests lie in movies and music. He also enjoys watching entertainment shows on MTV, particularly "Cribs," which showcases the daily lives of celebrities. However, Phelps has very little free time due to his intense training schedule. He began swimming at the age of six and now spends at least two hours or more in the water every day. When asked what he thinks about during races, Phelps answered, "I sing." He also revealed that his favorite musicians are Eminem, Ice Cube, and other rappers.
