Early Career and BreakthroughAlissa Czisny is an American figure skater competing in the women's singles category. She rose to prominence in 2005 after winning the Skate Canada Grand Prix stage and becoming runner-up at Skate America, qualifying her for the Grand Prix final.
National Success and International Debut
At the 2006 U.S. Championships, Czisny was among the medal favorites but made errors, finishing seventh. The following year, she placed fifth in the short program but won the free skate, earning a bronze medal. As a national bronze medalist, she represented the United States at the 2007 Four Continents Championships (5th place) and World Championships (15th place).
Setbacks and Redemption
In the 2007-08 season, Czisny struggled at the Grand Prix series and placed ninth at the U.S. Championships. She did not compete internationally again that season.
Return to Form and National Triumph
Czisny began the 2008-09 season with a victory at the Nebelhorn Trophy. She then took third place at Skate Canada and fourth at Cup of Russia. In a remarkable feat, she won the 2009 U.S. Championships, becoming the national champion.
