Origin and Early Life
> Allen Pineda, better known by his stage name apl.de.ap, was born on November 28, 1974, in the Philippines. At a young age, he was taken into foster care.
Break from School and Formation of Groups
> In eighth grade, Pineda dropped out of school with his friend, Will Adams. Together, they established a dance group called "Tibal Nation." Later, they changed their name to "Atban Klann."
Birth of the Black Eyed Peas
> With the addition of MC Jaime Gomez, the group evolved into the Black Eyed Peas. Pineda adopted the stage name apl.de.ap. Within the collective, he became known for his Filipino-language verses.
Musical Collaborations and Solo Endeavors
> In collaboration with will.i.am, Pineda co-wrote "The apl Song," a poignant track about the challenges of life in the Philippines. In 2005, they teamed up again for the humorous "Bebot," a song with a similar narrative to their earlier work. Currently, Pineda is planning to release a solo album in Filipino under the guidance of will.i.am.
