Early Life and CareerAmanda de Cadenet was born on May 19, 1972, in England. She began her eclectic career at the tender age of 14 as the host of the popular Channel 4 late-night talk show, "The Word." She subsequently appeared in several small film roles, including works by independent filmmaker Allison Anders.
Transition to Photography
In 1999, de Cadenet's acting career took a back seat as she embarked on a new journey as a photographer. Purchasing a secondhand Leica M6 camera, she began to capture the world through a lens, discovering her true passion. Her fashion photography has been featured in magazines such as Spin, Vogue, and Jane.
"Rare Birds" and Exhibitions
In 2005, de Cadenet released "Rare Birds," a collection of photography featuring over 100 portraits taken over the previous decade. The subjects included Sophie Dahl, Drew Barrymore, Beck Hansen, and Keanu Reeves. Her extensive body of work was showcased at a 2006 exhibition at Staley Wise Gallery in New York City.
Personal Life and Family
In 1990, de Cadenet began a relationship with Duran Duran bassist John Taylor. They married in 1991, shortly before the birth of their daughter, Atlanta, in 1992. The family relocated to Los Angeles to support de Cadenet's acting career and escape the British press.
Divorce and Subsequent Relationships
By 1995, de Cadenet's marriage to Taylor was crumbling, culminating in a divorce in 1997. She subsequently dated a string of wealthy and famous men, including Nick Valensi, whom she married in 2006. They welcomed twins, Silvan and Ella, that same year. De Cadenet also has two brothers, Alexander and Richard.
