Madlyn Rhue, an American actress, embarked on her acting career in the late 1950s and spanned her career for four decades.

Early Life and Career

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1935, Rhue began her acting journey in the late 1950s and early 1960s with appearances in television series such as "General Electric Theater," "Cheyenne," "Mike Hammer," and "Tales of Wells Fargo." Her striking beauty, characterized by dark hair and captivating eyes, made her a sought-after actress.

Film Appearances

In addition to her television work, Rhue also graced the silver screen. While her film roles were generally less prominent, she made notable appearances in Jerry Lewis's 1961 comedy "The Ladies Man," Mervyn LeRoy's "A Majority of One," and the 1963 Stanley Kramer classic "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World," which became her most acclaimed film appearance.

In 1962, Rhue married actor Tony Young and had one child. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1970. In 1977, Rhue was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a debilitating condition that she battled for the rest of her life. Despite her illness, she continued to work, appearing in numerous television series, including "Days of Our Lives," "Hart to Hart," "Dynasty," and "Murder, She Wrote." Even when she became wheelchair-bound, Rhue remained committed to her acting career.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society Campaign

In the late 1980s, Rhue participated in a National Multiple Sclerosis Society ad campaign. Initially hesitant, she later agreed to lend her voice to the cause.

After her retirement from acting, her friends continued to be a source of solace.
