Amanda Perez: A Rising Star in the Music World
Early Life and Influences
Born into a large Mexican-American family, Amanda Perez displayed her vocal talent at an early age. Inspired by her uncle's "Tejano band," she began taking drum lessons at just nine years old. Two years later, she joined the group "Sombra Chicana Chiquitos," performing alongside her cousins.
Perez's musical journey took a significant turn when she stepped away from the band to focus on a solo career. Despite her young age, she was determined to make her mark. She immersed herself in her uncle's recording studio, mastering the equipment and recording her own demos.
In 1999, Perez's talent was recognized when she won the "Junior Vocalist of the Year" award at the Indiana Black Expo. Her dream became a reality in 2005 when she released her debut album, "WHERE YOU AT?" Written, produced, and performed by herself, the album showcased her versatility as an artist.
