Amir Jadidi was born on June 20, 1984, in Tehran, Iran. Unlike many actors who pursue acting from a young age, Jadidi's career took a later and unexpected turn. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Management.
Debut in Theater
Jadidi first ventured into acting through theater. He made his stage debut in 2012, but his breakthrough came a few years later. In 2015, he played Helicon, the loyal friend and bodyguard of Caligula, in the eponymous play. He also appeared in "Soprano" at Tehran's Independent Theater. In 2019, he starred in and produced the play "The Herring," for which he won Best Actor at the Fajr International Theater Festival a year later.
Film Breakthrough
Jadidi's film career began in 2013 with minor roles in "Africa" and the TV series "The Ring." His critical acclaim came a year later, when he received an Honorary Diploma at the Fajr Film Festival for Best Actor in a Leading Role in "Thirteen." International Recognition
In 2016, Jadidi's star power reached new heights with his lead role in the mystical thriller "The Dragon Comes." The film competed for the Golden Bear at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival. "A Hero" and International Accolades
Jadidi's global breakthrough came with the 2021 dramatic thriller "A Hero." He portrayed Rahim, a prisoner who finds a bag of gold coins and returns it to its owner. This act of kindness turns Rahim into a national celebrity, but his sudden fame raises suspicions.
"A Hero" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received the Grand Prix along with "Compartment No. 6." It was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 2022 Golden Globes. While it did not advance to the Oscars, Jadidi's performance was recognized at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Hafez Awards in Iran.
