Biography of Ana Gonzalez

Ana Gonzalez is a Spanish fashion designer, artist, and photographer. She was born in Toledo, Spain and studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid and the EFTI Photography School. In 1996, Ana founded the label "Locking Shocking" and a year later, she met her future business partner. They had a fruitful collaboration for 10 years before the brand disbanded in 2007. During this time, Gonzalez served as the creative director of the company and the brand's collections received recognition, including the "L'Oréal Paris Award" for the best youth spring-summer collection in 2003 and the grand prize at the "Marie Claire for the Best National Designer" competition in 2004.

In 2008, Gonzalez established a new label called "Ana Locking" and her first collection, "Reentry," won her another "L'Oréal Paris Award" for the best collection from the Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week. In September 2009, she showcased her new spring-summer collection, created in collaboration with the company "4Eyes," at the New York's Public Library, coinciding with the New York Fashion Week. In November 2009, Ana received the "Price Cosmopolitan" award for the best designer of the year.

Gonzalez continues to actively explore new artistic fields and has studied at the University of Fine Arts of Madrid. She is interested in almost all areas of art and has collaborated with various creative organizations, regularly participating in exhibitions, installations, photography contests, seminars, and educational programs. Some notable organizations she has worked with include the National Museum of Art Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Museum of Modern Art of Castilla-León, the Institute of Modern Art of Valencia, and the Museum of Modern Art of Salamanca.

Participating in the work of these organizations has helped Gonzalez develop as a professional designer and support numerous aspiring colleagues.
