Biography of Anastasia Griffith
Anastasia Griffith, a British actress, is best known for her roles as Katie Connor in the series 'Damages' and as Nancy Carnahan in the series 'Trauma'. She was born on March 23, 1978, in Paris, France, to an Irish mother and an American father. Griffith grew up in the western part of London with her six brothers, one of whom is the actor Jamie Bamber, known for his role in 'Battlestar Galactica'. She earned a degree in Art History from the University of Bristol and later studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Early Career
Anastasia made her acting debut with a minor role in the television drama 'She's Gone' in 2004. That same year, she landed more prominent roles in the romantic drama 'Dirty Filthy Love', the comedy 'Alfie', and a short film. In 2005, Griffith appeared in the drama 'The Headsman' and received invitations to act in the series 'The Worst Week of My Life'.

Breakthrough Role in 'Damages'
In 2007, Griffith secured the role of Katie Connor in the television series 'Damages' just a month after arriving in New York City. She rushed to the audition at the last minute and decided to speak with an American accent, knowing that the producers were concerned about a British actress playing an American character. This was especially significant because Rose Byrne, an Australian actress, was already playing an American character in the series. Griffith maintained her American accent throughout the auditions and ultimately became a key character in the second season of 'Damages'.
Continued Success
Following her success on 'Damages', Griffith appeared in an episode of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' and the second episode of the series 'Golden Boy'. She then joined the medical drama series 'Trauma', which premiered in September 2009 but was officially canceled by NBC in May 2010 after 18 episodes. Griffith returned to filming on June 17, 2010, to portray Emily Peck in the third episode of the second season of 'Royal Pains'. She continued her television career with roles in the thriller 'And Baby Will Fall' in 2011 and the BBC series 'Copper', where she portrayed Elizabeth Haverford Morhaus, a wealthy Fifth Avenue businesswoman. One of Griffith's recent television roles is as Dr. Paradis in the series 'Banshee'.
Personal Life
In 2004, Griffith dated Welsh actor Michael Sheen for a few months after meeting him on the set of 'Dirty Filthy Love'.
