Early Life and Education
Anastasia Popsui was born in Kyiv, Ukraine on November 29, 1985. She completed her elementary education at Secondary School No. 242 and later attended the Kyiv Business Lyceum, where she graduated with honors as "Best Graduate of the Year" in 2003.
Popsui holds two master's degrees:
- Master's in Ukrainian Language and Literature, Literary Editing from Mykola Dragomanov National Pedagogical University.
- Master's in International Economics and Administrative Management from KROK University of Economics and Law.
She also received a summer scholarship to study comparative political science at Harvard University in 2017, where she published research, interviews, and creative projects.
Professional Career
Education and International CooperationPopsui's career in education began as a coordinator for the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI. She later became an assistant to the chairman of the Association of School Heads of Kyiv. At the Kyiv Business Lyceum, she taught European Studies and foreign literature.
Popsui has participated in numerous international programs and trainings, including:
- Teacher Training Center in Nasutow, Poland
- Civic Education Center in Baden Württemberg, Germany- Open World Program on Effective Governance in the US
- Internship Program at the European Parliament
Public Service
Irpen City Council
Popsui entered local government in 2015 as a deputy on the Irpen City Council. In 2016, she became deputy mayor for humanitarian affairs and later served as acting city mayor and secretary of the council from 2018 to 2019.
During her tenure, Popsui initiated significant reforms and initiatives, including:
- Strategic Plan for City Development (2016-2020)
- Investment Department of the City Council- City Branding Initiative
- Public Budget Program
- Irpen Educational Initiative
- Opening of the Irpen Social Center for Internally Displaced People
She also led the implementation of the medical and educational reforms in Irpen, establishing new medical facilities, centers for children with special needs, and communal kindergartens.
European Assembly of Women Parliamentarians (EAWP)
Popsui has been the head of the EAWP since 2016. The organization promotes gender equality and regional development. In 2017, EAWP launched the National Competition for Best Women's Initiatives in Ukraine, which showcases inspiring projects contributing to economic growth.
Awards and Recognition
Popsui has received numerous awards for her work, including:- "100 Successful Ukrainians" nomination and award (2020)
- Award from the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus'-Ukraine for her contributions to spirituality and the establishment of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (2019)
