Early Life and Career

Anatoly Drobotov was born on May 21st, 1951, in the village of Starye Kodaky, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine. He began his working career in 1970 as an electrician on the Zhandov collective farm in the Simferopol district. From 1970 to 1972, he served in the Soviet Army. Upon his return, he continued working on the Zhandov farm as an electrician, mechanic, and garage manager.

Political Career

In 1982, Drobotov became the deputy chairman of the Lenin collective farm in the Simferopol district. In 1984, he graduated from the Crimean Agricultural Institute as an agronomist. He rose through the ranks and became the chairman of the Lenin collective farm in 1985. He held this position until 1996.

Drobotov's political career began in 1994 when he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) from the Communist Party of Ukraine. He became the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Crimea in November 1994.

Short-Lived Premiership

On March 22nd, 1995, the Crimean parliament appointed Drobotov as Prime Minister of Crimea, replacing Anatoly Franchchuk. However, his tenure was short-lived, lasting only 9 days. Vice-Premier Arkady Demidenko effectively led the government during this time. Drobotov resigned on March 31st, citing disagreement with Franchchuk's policies.

Return to Parliament

Drobotov returned to the Verkhovna Rada in its second convocation, representing the Socialist and Peasant parties. He served on the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. He was also part of the state personnel reserve of the Verkhovna Rada.

In 2002, Drobotov ran for the Crimean parliament on the "Grach Bloc" list. In 2006, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada from the Peasant Party and for the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from the "For Crimea!" bloc. However, neither party passed the electoral threshold.

Later Career

Drobotov continued his political involvement, becoming the chairman of the Ukrainian Rural Revival Party in 2009. He has also received various awards, including the title of Honored Worker of Agriculture of Ukraine in 1997.

Personal Life

Drobotov is of Russian ethnicity and is married with two children.
