Anders Bastiansen: Norwegian Hockey Star
Early Career and Norwegian SuccessAnders Bastiansen began his hockey career with his hometown club, Frisk Asker, in the Norwegian Elite League. He spent eight seasons with Asker, helping them to win the Norwegian championship in 2002.
Journey Abroad
After the 2003/04 season, Bastiansen moved to the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-tier league. He had a brief stint with Mura in the 2005/06 season before joining Färjestad of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Champions in Karlstad
Bastiansen played six seasons with Färjestad, where he became a two-time SHL champion. He was a key player on the team's title-winning squads in 2009 and 2011.
International Career
Bastiansen played for Norway's under-20 team at two World Junior Championships in Division B. He made his debut for the senior national team in 2005.
Two Olympic Appearances
Bastiansen represented Norway at two Winter Olympics, in 2006 and 2010. He played a total of seven games and scored one goal in the Olympic tournaments.
Return to Asker
Bastiansen returned to Frisk Asker for the 2015/16 season. He remains a key player for the club, which competes in the Norwegian Fjordkraft-Ligaen.
International Success
Bastiansen has played in 10 IIHF World Championships at the elite level. In 2012, he helped Norway win a bronze medal, the country's first-ever podium finish at the tournament.
