Olli Jokinen
Early CareerOlli Jokinen is a former Finnish professional ice hockey player who played as a defenseman. He was drafted 43rd overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL Career
Jokinen began his NHL career with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2000. He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche on March 9, 2004, and played for the Avalanche for four seasons. After a brief stint with the Swedish club Djurgården in the 2007-08 season, he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent on July 1, 2008. He later joined the Vancouver Canucks in February 2009, finishing the 2008-09 season with the team.
KHL Career
In August 2009, Jokinen moved to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), signing with Belarusian club Dinamo Minsk. He spent the remainder of his career in the KHL, playing for Minsk and other teams.
International Play
Jokinen represented Finland at the international level, helping the team win the World Championship gold medal in 2011. He also competed in several other major international tournaments, including the Winter Olympics.
