Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, commonly known as Anderson, was born in 1988 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He started his football career in 1993 with the team Grêmio, where he became a five-time champion in the Brazilian football league. During his time with Grêmio, Anderson gained recognition among fans for scoring a crucial goal that helped the team advance to the top division.

In December 2005, Anderson announced his move to the Portuguese club Porto F.C. He made his debut for the new team on March 5, 2006. In the same season, Anderson participated in the UEFA Champions League for the first time, but his playing time was limited due to an injury sustained during a collision with an opponent.

In May 2007, rumors of Anderson's transfer to the famous English club Manchester United Football Club started circulating on the internet.
