Childhood and YouthAndre Dussollier was born on February 17, 1946, in the town of Annecy in eastern France. From a young age, he dreamed of a career in film and worked hard to achieve his goal, becoming one of the most sought-after actors in France. Films
Andre made his screen debut in his youth. After graduating from theater school, he joined the renowned "Comedie Francaise" theater in the heart of Paris. He debuted in the crime comedy "Such a Gorgeous Kid Like Me" as a criminal serving time for the murder of her husband and lover. This small role caught the attention of renowned directors, including Claude Chabrol, who cast Andre in the drama "Alice, or the Last Escapade," and Claude Lelouch, who featured him in the film "Life, Love, Death." Another iconic French filmmaker, Eric Rohmer, invited Andre to play a significant supporting role in the historical drama "Perceval the Gallois," where he portrayed the Round Table knight Gawain.
However, Andre's true recognition came with the lyrical comedy "3 Men and a Cradle" about three bachelors who are forced to take care of a baby left on their doorstep. Andre Dussollier continues to actively work in the film industry. In 2020, he joined the cast of the film "Everything Went Fine" directed by Francois Ozon.
