Early Life and Career

In 1973, Andre Lange was born in Ilmenau, Germany. Growing up, he participated in luge from 1981 until transitioning to bobsleigh in 1993.

Junior World Championships

Lange's professional bobsleigh career commenced in 1998, where he achieved an impressive double triumph as Junior World Champion. He successfully defended this title the following year in 1999.

World Championships and World Cup

By 2000, Lange's talent became evident as he showcased his skills on the ice tracks. He emerged victorious at the World Championships in the four-man event, claimed the silver medal in the two-man competition, and secured the World Cup title.

Olympic Triumphs

Lange debuted at the Olympics in 2002, sharing the gold medal in the four-man event with his teammates Carsten Embach, Enrico Kühne, and Kevin Kuske. This accomplishment was followed by further World Championship victories in the two-man event in 2003 and 2004, while he reigned supreme in the four-man competition from 2003 to 2005.
