Hiatus and Return to Television

In January 1990, Evans suddenly left "One Life to Live" due to a stalker who had been constantly harassing her. The incident escalated to the point where the stalker broke into the ABC Studios in New York City with the intention of harming her. Evans decided to leave the show to avoid further danger. After a hiatus of almost ten years, she returned to television in 1999, joining the cast of "The Bold and the Beautiful" as Tawny, Amber Moore's mother. In 2000, she joined the cast of the NBC soap opera "Passions" as Rebecca Hotchkiss Crane and remained with the show until its final episode.

Later Career and Personal Life

Evans appeared in two feature films in the 1990s, playing small roles in "A Low Down Dirty Shame" (1994) and "Ice Cream Man" (1995). In April 2008, she made a brief return to "One Life to Live" but left again due to the distance between the show's filming location in New York City and her home in California. She made guest appearances in "The Young and the Restless" in 2010, reprising her role as Tawny from "The Bold and the Beautiful." In November of the same year, she returned to "The Bold and the Beautiful" after a ten-year absence.

Evans was married to her "One Life to Live" co-star Wayne Massey, who played Johnny Drummond, Tina's love interest, from 1981 to 1983. They divorced, and Massey went on to pursue a career as a country singer. Evans married lawyer Steve Rodriguez on January 10, 1998. In 2004, the couple adopted a girl named Kylie Lynn.
