Christiana Reali, a French actress of Brazilian descent, was born on March 16, 1965, in São Paulo, Brazil. Her father, Miguel Reali, an Italian by origin, worked as a sports journalist in Brazil. When Christiana was about eight years old, her parents, along with her three sisters, were forced to emigrate to France due to the established military dictatorship in Brazil. Upon arriving in France, Christiana did not know a single word of French. Her mother believed that studying the dramatic arts, where she would have to memorize and speak large volumes of text in front of an audience, would help her overcome her accent and learn the language.
