Biography of Christiana Reali

Christiana Reali, a French actress of Brazilian descent, was born on March 16, 1965, in São Paulo, Brazil. Her father, Miguel Reali, an Italian by origin, worked as a sports journalist in Brazil. When Christiana was about eight years old, her parents, along with her three sisters, were forced to emigrate to France due to the established military dictatorship in Brazil. Upon arriving in France, Christiana did not know a single word of French. Her mother believed that studying the dramatic arts, where she would have to memorize and speak large volumes of text in front of an audience, would help her overcome her accent and learn the language. As fate would have it, these childhood lessons would shape Christiana Reali's life for many years to come.

Education and Early Career

Christiana completed her studies at the Molière High School in Paris. At the age of 22, in 1987, she enrolled in the drama school Cours Florent. Actor and director Francis Huster, her future husband, was one of Christiana's teachers at the school. Little did anyone know that this dedicated bachelor would propose to the young dark-eyed beauty, become the father of her two children, and give her the most prominent roles in both film and theater.

Achievements and Popular Roles

Christiana portrayed Ophelia in "Hamlet," Roxane in "Cyrano de Bergerac," and Marguerite Gautier in the television adaptation of "The Lady of the Camellias." She gained significant popularity after her role as Constance in the series "Indigo Earth," which revolved around the Vallon family's journey to seek happiness in a foreign land. Christiana and Francis Huster frequently act together in classical plays by Molière and Corneille. Additionally, Christiana's exquisite beauty led the cosmetic company Lancôme to select her for their advertising campaigns.

Personal Life and Relationships

In 2002, Christiana supported the presidential campaign of Lionel Jospin. In recent years, there have been reports in the press that, although Christiana was married to Francis Huster, she could not resist the charm of American actor John Malkovich. Malkovich, who speaks French fluently and lived and worked in the south of France for about ten years, directed a theater production of "Good Canary" based on a play by Zach Helm, in which Christiana played one of the main roles. As is often the case in the world of theater and cinema, their professional partnership evolved into a romantic relationship, and according to rumors, Reali and Malkovich began dating in March 2009.
