Andrew Boyens is a New Zealand footballer who plays as a centre-back for New York Red Bulls and the New Zealand national team.
Early Career
Boyens began his professional career with New Zealand semi-professional clubs Dunedin Technical and Otago United. In 2007, he was drafted 10th overall by Major League Soccer team Toronto FC. During his time with Toronto, he scored his only MLS goal against the Colorado Rapids.
New York Red Bulls
In 2008, Boyens joined the New York Red Bulls, where he remains a key player. He has made significant contributions to the team's success, anchoring the defense and providing leadership on and off the field.
International Career
Boyens made his debut for the New Zealand national team in 2007. He has represented his country in 15 matches, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Boyens is known for his strong aerial presence, physicality, and ability to read the game effectively.
