Early Life and Political Activism

Childhood and Education

Born to a lawyer father and a doctor mother, the subject of this biography began his education at the Petrograd Veterinary Institute in 1923.

Political Engagement

During his time at the institute, he joined the student faction of the Petrograd Committee of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDRP).

First Arrests and Imprisonments

1925 Arrest and Sentence

On May 27, 1925, he was arrested and charged under Articles 58-10 and 11 of the RSFR Criminal Code. In July, he was sentenced to three years in the Verkhneurailsk political isolator.

1928 Exile and Release

In 1928, he was exiled to the Urals for five years. However, in November 1929, he was transferred to Irbit.

1931 Release and Return to Activism

On April 20, 1931, he was released with restrictions on his movement. He worked in Perm from 1931-1932 and in Stalingrad from 1932-1934.

Second Arrest and Sentencing

1934 Rearrest and Imprisonment

After serving his "minus" sentence, he was arrested in 1934. He was released after several months, but his rights may have been restored.

1937 Arrest and Labor Camp

In 1937, he was arrested again and charged under Articles 58-10 and 11 of the RSFR Criminal Code. He was sentenced to five years in labor camps on December 3, 1937.

Wartime Incarceration

He served his sentence in the Belomoro-Baltic Canal labor camps. With the outbreak of war, he was transferred to the Kargopol Labor Camp.

Postwar Years

1946 Release and Work

Released in 1946, he worked as a designer in Borovichi, Novgorod Oblast.

1949 Rearrest and Exile

On June 16, 1949, he was arrested again and charged under Articles 58-10 and 11 of the RSFR Criminal Code. He was sentenced to exile in Krasnoyarsk Krai on September 28, 1949.

1954 Release and Rehabilitation

He was released from exile on July 6, 1954, and lived in Krasnoyarsk. His rehabilitation was granted by the Supreme Court of the RSFR on February 21, 1959.

Personal Life

He was married to Valentina Fedorovna Abisova.
